Established by the testamentary will of Adolfo Pini and formally recognized by a Decree of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in 1991, the Fondazione Adolfo Pini is located in the elegant family building at Corso Garibaldi 2, in the heart of the Garibaldi district in Milan, just a few steps from Brera.
In addition to Adolfo Pini (1920–1986), a man of science and physiology professor, the painter Renzo Bongiovanni Radice (1899–1970), Pini's maternal uncle, also lived and worked in this house. A key figure in the cultural development of his nephew, he guided his interest in art and culture.
The Foundation preserves the most important body of works by the Master, accompanied by a precious archive of documents, sketches, and letters. It promotes the knowledge of these works through exhibitions, publications, and research activities.
In addition to enhancing the artistic work of Bongiovanni Radice, the Foundation also promotes the figure of Adolfo Pini who, in addition to his scientific activity, was a writer, composer, and art enthusiast: a personality that embodies a rare balance between scientific and humanistic culture.
Since its inception, the Foundation has promoted cultural initiatives, exhibitions, publications, and educational programs, establishing itself as a place of dialogue between memory and contemporaneity. Among its statutory objectives is the support for young people through the establishment of awards and scholarships.
In 2025, following a significant restoration project, the Foundation reopens to the public with a new permanent exhibition. The historical spaces are designed to recreate the original atmosphere of the house, intertwining the family narrative with the monographic exhibition dedicated to Renzo Bongiovanni Radice. The exhibition delves into the themes closest to the Master, enriched with focuses and thematic insights that guide the visitor through an immersive cultural journey.
