The Martinnitt and Stelline Museum is located in the Stelline building of the same name, as well as the headquarters of the Stelline Foundation. The stars were an ancient Milanese institute for orphans, as well as the Martinitt in Milanese dialect. Inside the Museum the historical archives can be consulted and part of the library has over twenty thousand volumes. The Museum houses an important historical-artistic collection of over 500 years of Milanese charity, in the form of pictorial portraits. The Museum is unique in its kind for the topics it deals with, putting the history of city hospitality at the center of the scene. The Museum is aimed at everyone: students, families, scholars or simple enthusiasts who want to know the children's readings of two hundred years ago. The Museum recalls all those environments that were used for the reception of orphans, thanks to the display of historical documents, the videos projected on the walls and the original furnishings.
