Morra House

Casa Morra is the museum space created by Giuseppe Morra in Naples in Palazzo Cassano Ayerbo D'Aragona , a complex of 4,200 square meters that will be gradually renovated to accommodate the large Morra collection : over 2000 works presented with thematic itineraries and focus on artists. A journey through the history of contemporary art and the fundamental movements such as Gutai, Happening, Fluxus, Viennese Actionism, Living Theater, Visual Poetry up to the most advanced Italian and foreign research.

Casa Morra immediately proposes itself not as a static space for exhibiting works, but as an archive of contemporary art , a dynamic place capable of stimulating reflection and research in relation to society and its evolution. A " house of ideas " in which the past merges into the present and the future, up to challenge time with a program defined up to 2116. Morra has in fact planned 100 years of exhibitions, through the mechanism of the goose game made of postponements, crossings and returns. Exhibition cycles regulated by the alchemy of numbers 3 and 7 which coincide from time to time with the number of artists presented or the quantity of works and sequences of exhibitions.

The Morra collection consists of works by: Marina Abramović, Nanni Balestrini, Julian Beck, George Brecht, John Cage, Ugo Carrega, LUCA / Luigi Castellano, Henri Chopin, Giuseppe Desiato, Marcel Duchamp, Maurizio Elettrico, Heinz Gappmayr, Al Hansen, Geoffrey Hendricks, Dick Higgins, Allan Kaprow, Urs Lüthi, Stelio Maria Martini, Charlotte Moorman, Eugenio Miccini, Hermann Nitsch, Nam June Paik, Giulio Paolini, Luca Maria Patella, Lamberto Pignotti, Vettor Pisani, Paul Renner, Gerhard Rühm, Shozo Shimamoto , Rudolf Schwarzkogler, Daniel Spoerri, Arrigo Lora Totino, Bob Watts, Jean-Jacques Lebel, Dieter Roth, Oswald Wiener, Giuseppe Zevola and many others between past and future.
