Art, Design and Multimedia meet in Plart Foundation, Center of Excellence since 2008 seeks innovation as a key project to create and disseminate new cultural experience. Through a multidisciplinary approach to Plart it tells the complexity of our present, with an eye always tended to explore the future. It contains several an interactive hub where converge the various forms of creativity, thanks to the involvement of an eclectic group of professionals from Italy and the world.
the Foundation lives as a dynamic hotbed, moving between the international attention to the new expressions of the experimental design and research work around the non-polluting materials and to the problems of conservation, restoration and always more than sustainability, since such a "hub for sustainable creativity." in two locations, Naples and soon in Turin, has exposed one of the permanent collections of the most original historical plastic in the world, accompanied by a rich program of exhibitions, multimedia immersive installations, performances, workshops, laboratories and training projects, which develop innovation and the desire to be surprised.
Plart is a multifunctional space dedicated to scientific research and technological innovation for the recovery , restoration and conservation of works of art and design in plastic. Plart houses inside a research center, an events area, a space for training and the permanent exhibition of objects of one of the collections of the most famous historical plastics. The collection - built over 30 years thanks to a research patient Maria Pia Incutti and under the trusteeship of the architect. Nunzio Vitale - is an important landmark in the world of plastic. The collection tells the story of plastic and with it the evolution of the customs and mores of society, from the end of the seventies, highlighting the diversity and versatility of this diverse family of materials: from Bakelite to celluloid, from the resin to the polyurethane. It is a collection of over 1500 pieces in museum consists of anonymous objects - pens, dolls, boxes, lamps - and works of designers and contemporary artists such as Piero Gilardi, Gaetano Pesce, Franco Mello, Drocco Guido, Tony Cragg and many others. The collection was dedicated in 1990 to the historic exhibition Plastic Pignatelli Cortes Museum in Naples. In 1991 it was exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, the VIII exhibition of Saint Etienne design in 2002 - promoted and organized by the Foundation Armando Alvares Penteado - in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
