closed THE RIGHT TO BE WEAK. MASSIMO DOLCINI IN PARIS IN 1989 FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

The show

The exhibition brings the great graphic artist from Pesaro (1945-2005) back to the Civic Museums but it is above all an opportunity to reflect on social issues, themes that have characterized the entire Dolcini production and that are today more contemporary than ever and full of ideas. to reflect. What is proposed, in fact, is the exhibition 'Pour les droits de l'homme. Histoire (s) Image (s) Parole (s) ", organized in 1989 at the Beauborg Museum in Paris by the Artis 89 association and the French graphic collective Grapus: a project commissioned by the French government to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the French revolution and Universal Declaration of Human and Citizen Rights. Then as today, protagonists are the works of 65 designers, great masters of graphics invited to participate from all over the world, including Dolcini, in fact, who represented Italy together with Pierluigi Cerri and Andrea Rauch.

Open until March 1st, the exhibition stems from a proposal by Luigi Panzieri, a great collector of Dolcini posters, and is curated by Mario Piazza, a well-known graphic designer and architect, and Jonathan Pierini, director of ISIA Urbino. In 1989 each graphic designer was given a copy of all the posters exhibited in Paris; what can be admired in Pesaro is the series that belonged to Dolcini, today in the Panzieri collection housed in the premises of the ITET 'Bramante-Genga' and loaned for the occasion. The title "The right to be weak" was borrowed from the manifesto created by Dolcini: a celebration in a daily and ironic key, as is typical of his style, of David's victory over Goliath, and therefore of intelligence (and why not even a bit of cunning) on 'only' strength.
