From 28 November to 8 February 2026
Marie Quéau, winner of the 5th edition of the LE BAL / ADAGP Young Creation Prize, is exhibiting her work at LE BAL from November 28, 2025, to February 8, 2026.
How do we learn to fall, to jump out of a window, to die, to break everything by appointment? In FURY, Marie Quéau exhibits bodies facing extreme states: stuntmen repeatedly falling out of windows, actors in a trance in motion capture studios, static apneists on the brink of drift, individuals unleashing their rage in a fury room.
In a world where logic escapes, Marie Quéau focuses on the poetic figures of reversal: the fall as a reverse of flight, a body that absorbs the injury or accident for another, a trance state converted into data by the machine, theatricalized violence to ensure survival.
Marie Quéau's work invites us to question our own perception of reality. What if these moments of confrontation with limits, when body and mind waver between control and letting go, reveal what binds us most intensely?
"The title FURY came from the movie Alien 3 by David Fincher and the name of the planet 'Fury 161' where the film takes place. At the very beginning of this work, I imagined that the characters I photographed lived on this prison planet, driven by extreme telluric forces. I kept FURY because I liked the energy that this title represented. The Furies are also persecuting deities from Roman mythology, which can be found on funerary steles." – Marie Quéau
