The Fondation Louis Vuitton is a space dedicated to art located in Paris, within the Bois de Boulogne of the 16th arrondissement, on the border with the municipality of Neuilly-sur-Seine. Inaugurated in 2014, the Louis Vuitton Foundation is a private cultural initiative managed by the LVMH group, and is configured as a unique space dedicated to art and culture in Paris, with the aim of promoting and supporting art, in particular the contemporary one, and to be a place of encounter and interaction between artists, the Parisian public and visitors from all over the world. The building was specially built to a design by Canadian architect Frank Gehry, known for his unusual architectural works such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. The result is a building of 7,000 square meters, characterized by twelve large "sails" in glass and steel that surround a central core, called an "iceberg", made of high-strength white fiber-reinforced concrete. The reference to the shapes of a sailing ship is made explicit by the presence of a body of water created at the base of the structure. Inside there are various spaces: 11 contemporary art galleries for the permanent collection and for temporary exhibitions, storage areas, offices, teaching spaces and laboratories, as well as an auditorium that can accommodate up to 1,000 spectators. The exhibition spaces of the Louis Vuitton Foundation are divided into four categories: Contemplative, Pop, Expressionist, Music & Sound .
