The Musée Jacquemart-André is a museum located in Paris, not far from the Champs Elisées, in the 8th arrondissement. The museum houses a rich collection of mostly Renaissance European art, originally belonging to the couple of collectors Edouard André and Nélie Jacquemart, who lived between the 19th and 20th centuries. Following their death, the collection was donated by their children to the Institut de France. The museum's collection can boast works of the Italian Renaissance, with the likes of Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, Carlo Crivelli, Francesco del Cossa, Andrea Mantegna, Donatello, Luini and Baldovinettii. There are also Flemish works of art, including those by Rembrandt and Van Dyck. There are also period furniture, such as those of the Sun King and Louis XV, still sculptures and tapestries. The Musée Jacquemart-André is housed in a hotel particulier, that is an old private residence, from the 19th century. The museum is appreciated not only for the quality of the works on display but also for the beauty of the different rooms, elegantly furnished and decorated according to the taste and fashion of the time.
