In the refined 17th arrondissement of Paris, a few steps from Parc Monceau, the Musée Jean-Jacques Henner is housed in an elegant 19th-century hôtel particulier that was once the residence of the painter Guillaume Dubufe. Since 1924, the palace has been home to the works of Jean-Jacques Henner in an intimate journey that combines art, architecture, and period atmospheres.
The permanent collection includes about 300 works, including famous paintings, drawings, preparatory sketches, and personal items. Among the most beloved paintings are Saint Sebastian, Solitude, and L’Alsazia, she waits, along with Italian landscapes, portraits, and mythological scenes characterized by a symbolist style enveloped in soft light.
The tour unfolds on four levels: on the ground floor are the column hall and the Liberty style winter garden, now also used for exhibitions/events, while on the upper floor, the studio-workshop is accessible, with original objects and furniture that nurture the artist's creative process.
