the Palais Galliera - Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris is a museum entirely dedicated to fashion. It is located in the 16th arrondissement, not far from the Eiffel Tower. The museum was inaugurated in 1977, and inside it houses a permanent collection that numerous temporary exhibitions. The permanent collection includes over 70,000 pieces, representing the entire fashion scene from 1780 to the present day. It is possible to retrace the history of clothing from various eras and different historical characters, both male and female, without forgetting fashion for children and the possibility of consulting numerous catalogs and fashion magazines. In the museum there are clothes of the greatest modern and contemporary stylists, including Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain, Anne-Marie Beretta, Sonia Delaunay, Christian Dior, Jacques Fath, Mariano Fortuny, Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Paco Rabanne, Yves Saint Laurent, Elsa Schiaparelli and Elisabeth de Senneville. It is also possible to admire the clothes worn by personalities such as Marie Antoinette of Habsburg-Lorraine, King Louis XVII and Audrey Hepburn. The Galliera museum also houses other sections, including that of men's and women's underwear from the past two centuries, and that of accessories, which includes jewelry, hats, handbags, scarves and gloves. In addition to all this, there is also a large collection of photos, sketches and various drawings. The building that houses the museum is a 19th century building, owned by the Duchess of Galliera.
