From 2 May to 31 May 2026
It opens on Saturday May 2, 2026 at the Civic Museum Casa del Conte Verde "Secretly, between shadow and soul," a collective exhibition curated by the Cultural Association Magica Torino, a journey through forms that guard the mystery and question the threshold between what appears and what remains hidden. Its demanding organization, which presents the work of seventy-one artists from different backgrounds, has occupied much of 2025, a particularly significant year for Magica Torino, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of its establishment: ten years in which it has left a tangible mark on the territory with which it has had intense cultural and human exchanges.
But 2025 also coincided with the centenary of the birth of Enrico Colombotto Rosso, one of the most artistically sensitive painters who has contributed so much to the evolution of Italian contemporary art starting from his hometown, Turin, to reach an important international dimension. The opportunity could not be missed to plan the exhibition "Secretly, between shadow and soul," with a discreet, but necessary tribute to Colombotto Rosso, whose painting arises precisely from that state of exacerbated tension between being and not being that the works, exhibited in this path, embody.
These are works that hold onto the darkness and at the same time betray it, forms that seek the light knowing that every clarity implies a loss, that come to life in this intermediate, fragile, and fertile zone, not as an answer, but as an open question, as a gesture that invites one to pause in the complexity of becoming. The exhibition is much more than a collective, it is a dialogue between light and shadow, between the present and the past, between the places of Art left by those who came before us and those of those who now inhabit them, it investigates the inner spaces of the unsaid, delves into the threshold between the visible and the invisible, between matter and spirit, between what is shown and what remains hidden. Art, from this perspective, is no longer a language of revelation, but a place of suspension in which the visitor is invited to slow down, listen, get lost.
In a time when everything is exposed, documented, shared, given to millions of strangers, "Secretly" becomes an act of poetic resistance: a return to mystery as a political gesture, not just spiritual. Painting, photography, sculpture, installations, and videos suggest, allude, hold back, each work is not a secret to be revealed, but to be traversed. Not everything hidden asks to be found, some things live only in secrecy, between shadow and soul, and it is then that Art does not show: it guards.
