Antonio Carena House Museum

From 1 February 2020, the house of the Rivoli artist Antonio Carena, known as the "Painter of the skies", who lived from 1925 to 2010, has reopened its doors to lovers of contemporary art. In the circuit of house museums in the Turin area, the artist's home exhibits his private life, the objects that belonged to him, the archive of photos and letters that tell of a man who lived in great beauty, in his former home are exhibited around fifty works that were created starting from the mid-1940s, until a few days before his death in 2010.

Antonio Carena trained at the Accademia Albertina under the teachings of Enrico Paulucci, exhibiting at the Venice Biennale since 1950. In these years he tackled informal discourse to arrive, in 1960, at object research (Car bodywork, Films – Sperone gallery in Turin; Scipione gallery in Macerata). He then tackles the pop theme of the "heavens", of the Leavenings to decorate the ceiling of the staircase of the castle of Rivoli, a hall in Geneva, some rooms in Paris (Hotel de Ville D'Albret). The artist from Rivoli brought a little of blue in every corner of Europe, in public and private spaces.
