Merulana Palace

Palazzo Merulana, born from the synergy of strengths and communion of intentions between the Elena and Claudio Cerasi Foundation and CoopCulture, is a space dedicated to culture and art available to the city.

The imposing structure in Umbertine style, once the Office of Hygiene, recovered thanks to a project financing of the Cerasi Foundation and the SAC spa, now houses a rich Cerasi collection , works of modern and contemporary art, mainly from the Roman and Italian school of Twentieth century.

Palazzo Merulana has four floors. On the ground floor the Sala delle Sculture, a space with free access that houses the sculptural part of the collection and the Culture Concept Store, an extended and relaxed environment where the visiting experience is facilitated by the integration of information services, ticketing, bookshop and coffee bar.

The Hall on the second floor of Palazzo Merulana, where most of the collection finds space, is designed and furnished as a large and comfortable living room, where you can relax, linger and appreciate the works of Mafai, Donghi, De Chirico, Cambellotti, Capogrossi, Balla , among others. The third floor Gallery is a dynamic space that hosts temporary exhibitions from time to time. Going further up, the Attico Room, multifunctional, chameleonic and versatile, where you can organize cultural initiatives and private events; finally the Terrace, a privileged place on via Merulana.
