The Memmo Foundation presents, from December 14, 2024 to March 30, 2025, In a Light Breeze, the tenth chapter of Conversation Piece, an annual exhibition series curated by Marcello Smarrelli, born with the intention of providing an overview of Italian and foreign artists who choose Rome as a place of residence and research.
A highly successful curatorial project that has already seen the participation of over fifty of the most interesting artists on the international scene. For this new edition, the following artists have been invited: Bianca Bondi (1986, South Africa. Resident 2024-2025 at the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici); Enzo Cucchi (1949, Italy) with a collective work created together with Andrea Anastasio, Francesco Arena, Marc Bauer, Elisabetta Benassi, Carlo Benvenuto, Domenico Mangano; Sidival Fila (1962, Brazil), Vanessa Garwood (1982, United Kingdom), Richard Mosse (1980, Ireland. Philip Guston Rome Prize 2024-2025 at the American Academy in Rome).Also for the tenth chapter, as usual, the artists were proposed a theme of universal character but, at the same time, linked to the city of Rome and its millenary history. In a Light Breeze takes its cue from a characteristic and identity element of the Capital: the Ponentino, a summer and light wind that comes from the sea, so popular that it is sung in Roman stornelli, loved by authors like Fellini who wanted it to be the protagonist of his film Roma, a real or imaginary accomplice of many love stories.
