The show

On World Poetry Day , Monday 21 March, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art inaugurates the exhibition Primum vive , which exhibits the shots with which the photographer Enzo Eric Toccaceli has portrayed numerous faces of Italian and foreign poets and poets.

To form a path that crosses the places of passage and exchange within the museum, the exhibition of about 150 photographs winds along the corridors of the Gallery bookshop up to a focus entirely dedicated to Alda Merini, to continue in the corridor that unites the main exhibition sectors. These are images that Toccaceli has created over the course of a long career, studded with casual encounters and friendships intertwined with personalities from literature and poetry.

This day dedicated to poetry, which conveniently falls on a date that marks the rebirth, presents itself to offer us an opportunity for luminous reflection and beauty, of which today we feel a necessary urgency.
