From 31 March to 31 May 2019
Observing what we choose interesting through a hole, regardless of use, is the origin of what we have defined over time as framing and rightly considered the tools historically used for the reproduction and creation of images. Putting the eye in front of the forum, however, means much more, in fact we begin a path that becomes choice, reflection, study. In our mind we prefigure the thing that perhaps we will accomplish, or it will be the imagination to realize it, having also to consider the randomness, always present. The direct experience and the history of our workshops and of the many exhibitions, provide us with countless examples of masterpieces and thoughts that have remained so, but the uniqueness of the moment is for everyone, the important thing is to be aware of it. The magical moment that we give ourselves in putting ourselves under observation remains a unique and exhilarating experience. The Director of the Musinf of Senigallia Prof. Carlo Emanuele Bugatti often repeated analyzing the current events, as it was necessary today to reflect on digital images mainly produced by mobile telephony and in general by new technologies, in relation to making instant photography. In his long, qualified and intense activity, the Director managed to involve numerous photographers and to organize basic training meetings, workshops and exhibitions consistently devoted to pinhole knowledge. All this thanks to the collaboration and guidance of the leader and courageous experimenter Massimo Marchini , great builder of images, profound connoisseur of techniques and pinhole poet. Briefly Bugatti underlined his preference for the Self-built Camera Obscura, entrusting to Slow Photography the remaining opportunities today for a conscious reflection on photography. Over the years, the activities that Musinf has always consistently managed have been the organization and implementation of numerous Thematic Laboratories, in Italian schools, developing historical relationships with institutions and students who have produced Ministerial awards and new young artists. Some of them then identified the Senigallian Museum as an indispensable cultural and operational point of reference, becoming important and assiduous collaborators. This exhibition initiative, the Seventh organized by our Museum, continues the tradition of the Pinhole Photography Archive directed by Massimo Marchini, a tradition that consists in identifying in the historical moment of the exhibition, the artists who have provided their important contribution to the growth of the same. Archive. Also in this edition, which takes place in the prestigious spaces of the Rocca Roveresca, numerous and qualified photographers have been involved.
