On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his passing, the retrospective curated by Antonio Natali and his son Giovanni retraces the artistic journey of Lorenzo Bonechi. An itinerary that spans 30 works, showcasing the different phases of the artist's research: from drawing to copperplate engraving, from textured paintings to tempera on paper. The works come from the Lorenzo Bonechi Archive and private collections, in collaboration with the gallery 'Il Ponte'. The exhibition offers the opportunity to get to know Bonechi's work, displaying the variety of his expressive stylistic figures and techniques adopted during his brief but intense career, as well as the themes and sentiments at the core of his poetic: the nature and culture of his native lands, the continuity between history and current events, the mystery of the divine, and the sacredness of existence. Since 1982, Bonechi has participated in group exhibitions in Italy, the United States, Great Britain, and Japan. In 1985, he had solo exhibitions in Florence, London, and New York. These were followed by group and solo exhibitions until 1995, when the artist was invited to the 46th edition of the Venice Biennale. However, on November 23, 1994, Lorenzo Bonechi suddenly disappeared. The Biennale will dedicate two rooms in the Italian Pavilion to him.
