closed From the collection of Angelo Vaninetti

The show

On Friday 9 September 2022 at Palazzo Sassi de'Lavizzari, headquarters of MVSA - Valtellinese Museum of History and Art , the exhibition " From the collection of Angelo Vaninetti. A journey among the masters of the twentieth century " is inaugurated, thanks to the generosity of Dr. Annalisa Vaninetti , daughter of Angelo Vaninetti and Armida Righini Vaninetti.

An extraordinary collection, which will bring artists such as Bruno Cassinari , Marc Chagall , Salvador Dalì , Filippo De Pisis , Renato Guttuso , Renè Magritte and Pablo Picasso to the city of Sondrio, just to name a few.

This exhibition offers graphic works that allow not only the knowledge of great artists of the twentieth century, but also help to penetrate the soul of those who have chosen or received them by weaving an imaginary thread of relationships between Angelo Vaninetti and other artists.

I believe that what I have done as an artist and collector is crucial for the culture of my land. In today's globalized society I see cultural lethargy and educational emergency prevailing everywhere. Thus indifference, ignorance, barbarism and depravity are spread.

Young people, especially today, must learn to see art not as a burden or a useless thing. Therefore, it is necessary to bring them closer to the work of art by making their experience engaging and in-depth, so that they can then become passionate on their own. Art is freedom ”.
