Mineral Museum of Valtellina and Valchiavenna – Fulvio Grazioli Collection

The Museum of Minerals of Valtellina and Valchiavenna is located in Sondrio and collects the rarest and most important minerals of Valtellina and Valchiavenna. Almost 500 pieces are on display and are part of the Fulvio Grazioli collection, one of the most complete collections in the Alps. Minerals from the Bombardieri Foundation and the Valtellinese Institute of Mineralogy are also part of the collection. The museum displays two minerals that are now considered unique in nature. Other minerals have been discovered in the province of Sondrio for the first time and only in some areas of the planet. The Museum of Minerals of Valtellina and Valchiavenna is considered one of the most important from an educational and scientific point of view. In fact, the Museum is the venue for important educational and in-depth meetings for enthusiasts, geologists, naturalists and students. Furthermore, the Museum offers educational activities for children and families. Today the Museum also hosts events and temporary exhibitions.
