On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., the Regional Archaeological Museum "Paolo Orsi" in Siracusa will host the opening of the exhibition "One Passion Only. The destiny of the classical hero", promoted by the Archaeological Park of Siracusa in collaboration with the INDA Foundation, on the occasion of the 60th cycle of Classical Performances at the Greek Theater.

The exhibition revolves around the theme of passion, the driving force behind the destinies of heroines and heroes of the works on stage this year: Electra and Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles, and the comedy Lysistrata by Aristophanes. The setup combines the cultural heritage of INDA - stage costumes, sketches, photographs, and archival materials - with a selection of archaeological artifacts that enrich the narrative, in a symbolic dialogue between past and present.

Among the most significant pieces are two figurative vases with representations related to the myths portrayed, as well as the funerary equipment of the so-called Unknown Leader of Monte S. Basilio (4th century BC), which concretely testifies to the wars that have marked the history of Siracusa and Sicily.

An unmissable event that intertwines historical memory, classical art, and the enhancement of Sicilian cultural heritage.
