closed A blue fairy tale

The show

On Saturday 21 October at 7.30 pm, as part of the fourth edition of MAS WEEK - Festival of Architecture, Design and Contemporary Art, the inauguration of the site-specific environmental installation, created by the master, will take place in the old city (via Paisiello). Giulio De Mitri and entitled Via Paisiello: a blue fairy tale, a journey in the collective imagination between sea, sky and poetry. Laboratory of urban regeneration, resilience, artistic creativity and social inclusion with the active participation of children and young people residing in the old city of Taranto.

The blue fairy tale is a modern fairy tale told by children and young people who have evoked with meaningful words the main concepts of social life such as: acceptance, participation, collaboration, tolerance, solidarity, generosity and social commitment. An angelic blue butterfly metaphorically symbolizes life and, with it, choices, the present and the future, thus accompanying the children's reflections and the operations born from the artistic teaching and creativity laboratory.

The artistic installation regenerates a historic street - dedicated to the master composer and musician Giovanni Paisiello - which is currently in a state of marginality. It is hoped that the artistic intervention can reawaken the sense of belonging and identity for the rediscovery of this important street in the historic center.
