From wood to sound for a new life for the tallest silver fir in Europe, the Avez del Prinzep.
The ANIMA exhibition reveals the history of this historic and monumental tree of the Cimbrian plateaus and its transformation into four musical instruments.
ANIMA tells the story of the journey undertaken to create a string quartet with soundboards and a core made of Avez del Prinzep silver fir, the tallest in Europe. Crashed in 2017 at around 250 years of age and 52 meters high, it was located in the municipality of Lavarone, in the Cimbrian plateaus.
From an idea and with the artistic direction of Giovanni Costantini.
The project is promoted by the Avez Valorization Committee of Prinzep, in partnership with MUSE and the Municipality of Lavarone and with the patronage of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
The instruments were made by master luthier Gianmaria Stelzer.
