The Oslo Jewish Museum (Jødisk Museum i Oslo), inaugurated on September 8, 2008 by Crown Prince Haakon, is the official museum of Jewish culture and history in Norway, established as a foundation in 2003 and supported by the Jewish community and the Oslo City Museum. Located at Calmeyers gate 15B, in the historic district where a synagogue stood from 1921 to 1942 and where a significant part of the Norwegian Baltic Jewish population lived.
The museum hosts three permanent exhibitions that combine documents, objects, multimedia, and interactivity: "The Jewish Year": an educational journey on the main holidays and religious customs, enriched with videos and interactive games. "Remember Us Unto Life – Jews in Norway 1940–1945": extensive collection of testimonies on the Holocaust in Norway, with personal objects, photographs, and individual narratives. "The Shtetl – A Lost World": exhibition dedicated to the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe and their journey to Norway, with a focus on the original villages.
