Our notion of space has changed as a result of the pandemic. Lockdown, social distancing, contingency are words that describe the ways in which the relationship between bodies and spaces is articulated and disciplined today, on an individual and collective level. A series of anomalies that characterize the new normality, defined by a stringent choreography of gestures and movements, and that force us to resume measurements of spaces and relationships.

The Space Oddity exhibition proposes a journey through a series of works that reflect on the concepts of spatiality, corporeality, exterior and interior, architecture and psychology, offering the exhibition space as a context in which to implement exercises of proximity, distance and mapping. This awareness of the way in which we inhabit space finds a key image in the practice of dance, strongly symbolic, in particular in the articulation between choreographic score and interpretative freedom, between rule and expression, between stasis and movement. The dance, present in the exhibition through a plurality of artistic contributions and expressive means, offers that dimension of liveness that prefigures the possibility of imagining new spaces and producing them in the action of the body in motion.

Presented on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Foundation, the exhibition includes historical and recent works from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection.
