The Fondazione Arte CRT in Turin , founded in 2000 by the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino Foundation, aims to enrich and enhance the cultural and artistic heritage of Turin and Piedmont .
Through the synergy between many different realities, the Fondazione Arte CRT carries out training courses, visiting experiences and support activities for the Turin and Piedmontese contemporary art system . For about a decade since its inception, the Foundation has devoted its activities and resources almost exclusively to the purchase of works, granted on loan to the GAM - Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Torino and Castello di Rivoli.
In this way he offered the two museums the opportunity to create a single large collection, complementing the existing ones. And thus led the city of Turin to dialogue and compete with the major Italian and foreign institutions in the sector. Currently the collection of the Fondazione Arte CRT has more than 870 works by over 300 artists active in the last 70 years in Italy and abroad and boasts an important nucleus of historical works belonging to the Arte Povera movement.
