A unique collection in the world. A place of debate and experimentation that, starting from the enhancement of the preserved heritage, produces original content capable of speaking the languages of contemporaneity. The National Automobile Museum is a reference point for automobile culture, which is told through creative contaminations with all disciplines of knowledge. Founded in 1933 by Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia, the National Automobile Museum preserves a collection of over 200 original cars from 80 different brands that tell the historical evolution of the invention that changed the world: from late 19th-century steam carriages to design masterpieces of the 1950s, from the protagonists of epic races and memorable journeys to prototypes that guide the future directions of research.

Three floors of exhibition dedicated to the history of the automobile and key figures - coachbuilders, designers, artists, drivers - who have made it a timeless icon. The temporary exhibitions - distributed between the large Albertini Hall and the project rooms and produced in collaboration with prominent institutions and partners on a national and international scale - complete the cultural offer of the Museum with content and insights on the theme of the automobile, not only a means of transport but, always, an object of worship, transversal to all arts and disciplines.

Completing the museum tour, the Documentation Center that carries out archiving and research activities together with the Conservation and Restoration Center, which daily conducts conservation and restoration activities of historical vehicles. A renewed and innovative Museum that - starting from the enhancement of the historical heritage - has rethought the tools to communicate its collection in an accessible, contemporary, and transversal way. In November 2025, the National Automobile Museum completed a major update of its exhibition path. Some rooms have been completely rearranged while, in others, targeted interventions have enriched the narrative and multiplied points of view: among these, the rewriting of the didactic apparatus and the integration of a rich selection of original documentary material - photographs, technical drawings, sketches.

Among the most relevant novelties the new Design section - 2000sqm that speak of industrial creativity and design process, in an educational path that accompanies the visitor through the evolution of automotive style and product design and the Convergences project - a wide selection of modern and contemporary artworks scattered throughout the permanent path to generate unexpected intersections between design and imagination, between memory and current events.
