The show

On May 26, at 6.30 pm, direct presentation of the project on the Facebook page of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation. Speakers Matteo Pericoli, Bill Shipsey, Founder of Art for Amnesty and Emanuele Russo, President of Amnesty International Italia. The Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation hosts the exhibition Windows on the elsewhere. 60 views for 60 refugees, an Art For Amnesty project in support of Amnesty International Italia, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of Amnesty International.

The exhibition brings together the 60 original drawings that the architect and designer Matteo Pericoli created starting from the photographs of one of the windows of the current homes of refugees and refugees in various parts of the world. Each window is accompanied by a text, written by the refugee: a way to tell what he or she sees today, looking out, and thinking back to the views and windows he left behind.

The walls of the bookshop area will become those of an ideal room, a unique place in which to share and identify with the eyes of those who see our world with eyes full of stories. In welcoming this project, the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation embraces the idea of the window as a universal metaphor of contact and sharing, and is committed to communicating this message made of images and words with clarity and strength. To do this, part of the drawings will be made available during the exhibition also thanks to tactile tables and the Qrcode that contains the audio description. Windows on the elsewhere. 60 views for 60 refugees is also a book, published by the publishing house Il Saggiatore, and a limited edition box set produced by the Lavazza Group, with drawings signed by the author.
