The show

Just over a year after the donation of fifty works of artistic and design glass from the 20th and 21st centuries from the Bellini Pezzoli collection to the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Castello Sforzesco, the exhibition Glass engraved by the Laguna in Milan is presented. Around the nucleus of collection permanently exhibited in the Sala Castellana, a story has been constructed that delves into glass engraving techniques by inviting contemporary artists to create a work for the exhibition or by selecting significant specimens from private collections.

To exemplify this lesser-known but extremely important aspect of glass processing, works have been chosen which present a second cold processing, through rotary engraving, grinding, beating, corrosion with acid etching and sandblasting, cold. The exhibition, curated by Fiorella Mattio and Sandro Pezzoli, is created in collaboration with the Vetri Committee of Laguna and was inaugurated in the “Mondi a Milano” program for MuseoCity.
