Newly opened in 2006 and 2009, Palazzo Grassi and Tip Customs are the two d&rsquo museum; contemporary art Pinault Collection in Venice. Featuring a’ exceptional architecture, the two historic buildings have been restored by’ Japanese architect Tadao Ando to present large group exhibitions and monographs.
The vocation of Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana è to share with the public the knowledge and love of contemporary art and to deepen the special relationship that the Pinault Collection has developed with the artists through the creation of works specially conceived for its space . A policy of inclusion and accessibilityà applied to services and activitiesà offered by the two museums and a continuous cultural offerings and varied to allow both museums to open up to a wider audience. From 2013, the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi strengthens this broad artistic and cultural programming through a full calendar of events– lectures, concerts, film screenings, workshops and master classes.
Ancient customs by the Sea of Venice, l’ building Punta della Dogana, work of’ architect Giuseppe Benoni, è completed in 1682. After più vent’ years of neglect and restoration conducted by Tadao Ando, reopens to the public and since then has temporary exhibitions contemporary art.
