From 16 October to 7 November 2021
The exhibition of the spectacular winning photos of the international competition organized by Abissi Underwater Photo Venice, now in its fourteenth edition, will once again find its place in the evocative setting of the Cetacean Gallery.
With 89 photographers and photographers from 17 different countries around the world, for a total of 637 photographs, the competition confirms its success. Despite the difficulty in traveling and reaching the shooting destinations, the desire to live one's passion has produced works of the highest quality, from which to choose the three winning images for the nine different categories.
The 27 shots on display were selected by a jury of industry experts made up of Davide Lopreste, Fabio Iardino and Marcello di Francesco.
To add value to this splendid photographic material, but also to promote love and respect for the sea and for the organisms that populate it, the authors - as happened in previous editions of the exhibition - have allowed the free use of the images to the Museum for scientific, educational and educational purposes.
The public will also be able to admire a glass work created for the occasion by the master glassmaker Stefano Dalla Valentina, sponsor and collaborator of Abissi since the first edition.
Inauguration with presentation of the exhibition with Davide Barzazzi of Abissi Underwater Photo Venice and a special event always dedicated to the sea and its inhabitants, with the scholars of CERT, the Cetacean strandings Emergency Response Team of the University of Padua.
