This competition intends to enhance glass beads made with traditional Venetian techniques or inspired by Venetian techniques and styles. Acceptable genres include lampwork beads, beads created from drilled rods, and blown beads. Some examples of traditional Venetian techniques see the use of murrine, the use of aventurine glass, decoration with the "vette", chevron pearls, lampblown pearls, etc. The competition promotes the sharing of traditional knowledge and awareness of how much they can be a source of inspiration for contemporary art, on an international platform.
