A selection of the Storp Collection will be presented to enhance the section dedicated to perfume that for over a decade has enriched the permanent exhibition path of the Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo. A overview of the most significant bottles, from both an aesthetic and historical point of view, will allow to address and deepen different themes: from the creativity that over the centuries has flourished to evocatively identify the identity of the essential accessory, namely perfume, to the use of precious and innovative materials to impart a touch of originality to the container. All of this, as well as the use of essences and their identification among the most precious goods present in the Mediterranean routes, first, and then in the oceanic ones. Therefore, we will proceed with the careful historical-cultural investigation of perfume, collecting the multiple suggestions that also and above all reverberate from the wonderful micro-caskets, expression of a craftsmanship virtuosity that has always translated the aesthetic tastes of every era. An important intervention that reflects the continuity of the prestigious collaboration with MAVIVE, thanks to which the Fondazione Musei Civici has long been organizing joint initiatives related to the theme of perfume.
