Giovanni Battista Caracciolo, called Battistello was an Italian painter, an important follower of Caravaggio in Naples. He was one of the most important Neapolitan Caravaggio painters as well as, together with Ribera, Massimo Stanzione, Mattia Preti and Luca Giordano, one of the most influential exponents of Neapolitan painting of the seventeenth century.
