In 2006 Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi started photographing, documenting the new Italian independent music scene. Since then, she has worked for many bands and artists as a photographer and art director, becoming a reference point in the national music scene. In 2016, she joined the Contrasto agency. Over the years, she has focused her research on portraiture, which has become her expressive and artistic medium. She works as a portraitist for the most important Italian and foreign magazines, photographing writers, directors, politicians, athletes, and musicians. In recent years, her photographic production has been driven by the desire to explore, through portraiture, social and rights-related issues. She is a portrait photography teacher at IED and often gives lectures and workshops in various schools and universities.
