Open in the summer 2020 as the evolution of Cascina Maria - first experiment of artist residence conceived in 2017 by Nicoletta Rusconi Art Projects - Cascina I.D.e.a. Announces the programming 2021 for the spaces of this rural assembly immersed in the Piedmontese campaign and transformed into a place dedicated to art and artists, always in the name of experimentation and dialogue between different disciplines.
With Dolls and Goddesses, Personal exhibition of Vannessa Safavi (Lausanne, 1980) curated by Marco Tagliafierro who will take shape from the artist's residence within the farmhouse between April and May 2021, from 16 May 2021 inaugurating new exhibition activities, which Continue in September 2021 with the Thomas de Falco exhibition (1982), artist in residence from June 2021.
Dolls and Goddesses explore, with humor and a sense of provocation, the domestication of gender stereotypes, analyzing the sculptural possibilities of the representation of the body and questioning the relationship with the disease, sexuality and identity. On display a series of glazed ceramics that represent breasts of women: works inspired by the former votes, votive offers that, in different cultures and religions, represent body fragments of which the healing is asked. Next to these, a series of new works created by combining details of hands - nails, fingers - in glazed ceramic and large silicone paintings.
