The Homer State Tactile Museum

The Omero State Tactile Museum , a model of excellence in the field of cultural opportunities for blind and visually impaired people, is an innovative museum of great attraction for all those who want to approach and learn about art.

A unique museum, without barriers, which intends to export its experience and philosophy by promoting the multi-sensory enjoyment of cultural heritage. Housed in the eighteenth-century rooms of the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona , it presents itself as a three-dimensional encyclopedia of art history.

Its collection organically documents the plastic and sculptural art of all times: from life-size copies of classical Greece, by Michelangelo and Canova to the original sculptures of the rich contemporary section with, among others, De Chirico, Marini, Martini, Messina, Pistoletto and many others . In 2021 we inaugurated the new Design collection with 32 iconic objects from the history of Italian design since 1960.

The Museum is a training and research centre, a permanent laboratory for the valorisation and enjoyment of works of art, a promoter of tactile exhibitions of national and international importance and thematic exhibitions, and an educational agency for schools and families.
