Free from the constraints of the "anatomical" decomposition of the subjects required by Kitzinger, Maraini restores in both cases the integration between architectural design and decoration that creates the "impressive scenography" of Monreale. Especially in this case, the foreground Mary Magdalene on the left and the point of light from the window on the top right blend with the photographer's perspective, creating a visually striking interweaving.
