The Municipality of Brescia and the Brescia Musei Foundation present today, pending the official opening of the Italian Capital of Culture, the first exhibition of 2023: Foodprint. The Mediterranean Diet today , an international project, curated by the Greek company Anemon Production in collaboration with the Brescia Museums Foundation and realized thanks to the Creative Europe Call . The exhibition is set up in the Gallerie del Parlatorio delle nuns of the Santa Giulia Museum, from 10 January to 26 February .

Foodprint recounts the birth and history of the Mediterranean Diet , recognized as an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO thanks to its unique qualities, illustrating its importance still today, as it is capable of providing solutions to some of the planet's problems: the loss of biodiversity , food waste and climate change . It is a story of sustainability, health and cultural exchange, meant to inspire change and reconnect audiences to the past of a region that has created the healthiest and most sustainable diet in the world.

The exhibition features the photographs taken by internationally renowned contemporary photographers Myrto Papadopoulos, Johann Clausen, Elena Heatherwick, Chris De Bode and Maria Contreras Coll , who with their shots bring back to life ancient practices perpetrated for centuries throughout the Mediterranean. The public will thus be guided through a multi-thematic exploration of the Mediterranean Diet, on a journey in which extreme and contrasting landscapes are told: from isolated villages and mountain places to urban centers to address important issues such as sustainability, identity, family, community, cuisine , agriculture, health, poverty and creativity.

Also on display are some unpublished shots by Dutch photographer Chris De Bode, which portray young aspiring chefs in action, taken in the previous months in Brescia at the ENAC Lombardia CFP Canossa school.
