Shadows and Presences is the three-year project conceived by the Municipality of Cernobbio and the GALP Gallery designed as a path of artistic research dedicated to the themes of presence and absence, of matter and its dissolution in space. The project is divided into three exhibitions of distributed art, each lasting about six months, featuring three contemporary artists, called to engage the public on the meaning of being "here and now", in the relationship between body, environment, and perception.

After the first edition of 2025 dedicated to Stefano Bombardieri and his famous and imposing rhinoceroses and other animals (Stefano Bombardieri. The journey of the rhinoceros and the paradox of time, curated by Anna Lisa Ghirardi) that populated the streets of Cernobbio, the second chapter of the project is now entrusted to the lightness of Davide Dall’Osso's works, an artist who has put his talent at the service of environmental sustainability, transforming industrial waste materials into sculptures of strong poetic intensity. Through a masterful use of transparencies and material layering, Dall’Osso brings to life works that seem suspended between physical presence and immateriality, merging with the space that welcomes them.

Dall’Osso's sculptures, from graceful ballerinas to anthropomorphic figures living in the wind, evoke lightness, movement, and transformation, establishing a continuous dialogue between the visible and the invisible, between fullness and emptiness. Matter becomes light and reflection in a language that amplifies the perception of reality and invites the viewer to a sensory and contemplative experience, where the gaze is called to slow down and question itself. One of Dall’Osso's main objectives is to raise awareness among those who encounter his works on themes of plastic recycling, circular economy, and green practices. His sculptures made from polycarbonate and plexiglass waste are crossed by light that continually redefines their boundaries.
