closed DIALOGUES

The show

"Dialogues" is a path based on the reinterpretation of four fundamental paintings belonging to the collection of the Ala Ponzone Civic Museum in Cremona.

The key chosen to create these correspondences is that of the new artistic trend linked to the production of NFTs which enter into relation with some cornerstones of ancient art thus creating a continuity of contents that from Arcimboldo arrive to the present day.

The choice of the works with which to dialogue was based on the recognizability of a matrix strongly linked to the cultural traditions of Cremona told in painting by some of the most prominent exponents of the city's artistic tradition, obviously including Caravaggio's San Francesco in Meditation, painter who owes much to the pictorial culture of Cremona as lucidly pointed out by Tommaso Montanari in his essay "Caravaggio through the fields".

The natural setting identified for the development of this artistic project is the Sala delle Colonne, the result of the neoclassical expansion of the spaces of the civic art gallery. Inside this circular room, the artist has decided to exhibit his personal reworkings of the chosen subjects in the four corners with the intention of serving as an introduction to the rooms that house the museum collection.

The visitor will therefore have the opportunity to be welcomed within this installation extremely linked to the new artistic techniques that will play with references and contrasts between antiquity and the ultra-contemporary.
