From 14 December 2022 to 5 February 2023 in the Gallery of the Chapel of the Royal Palace of Genoa, on display We saw His star appear , a selection of the so-called King's Nativity, exceptional "for grandeur of proportions, sumptuous costumes and coherence of language" . Appeared to the attention of the news at the beginning of the twentieth century, it has had several owners up to the present, a Genoese collector who wanted it to be recently restored and presented to the public.

Already set up in Palazzo Reale, partially in 2017 and in its entirety in 2019, the Nativity scene returns to the magnificent residence in via Balbi for the Christmas season with a selection of about fifteen pieces - focused in particular on the Holy Family and the Magi with shepherds , angels and cattle. The occasion will allow the public to admire the wonder of the precious carved and painted wooden statues, finely decorated and dressed with taste and refined care.

A valuable work created in the first quarter of the 19th century by Giovanni Battista Garaventa, it is the extreme result of that long and glorious crib and wooden plastic tradition embodied by the name of Anton Maria Maragliano, the artist who more than others contributed to its updating and to its projection beyond the borders of the Republic of Genoa, of which Garaventa can be considered one of the most skilled epigones.

The sculptures will be inserted in a completely new and unprecedented setting, designed for the occasion by the architect Giovanni Tironi.​
