Almost fifty years after the anthological exhibition curated by Franco Solmi at the Galleria d’arte moderna in Bologna (1979), the exhibition dedicated to Giovanni Korompay (Venice 1904 – Rovereto 1988) aims to propose a new and updated reinterpretation of the work of one of the main exponents of the second futurism: an exegesis that intends to reconstruct the different expressive phases of his pictorial experience, highlighting his adherence to the phenomenon of aeropainting and the abstract outcomes of his post-war research.
The exhibition, organized by Wolfsoniana – Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura in collaboration with the Fondazione Giovanni Korompay, benefits not only from works from the museum's collections and from the Collection of the heirs, but also from loans from famous museums and institutions (MAMbo – Museo d’arte moderna di Bologna; MART di Rovereto; Ca’ La Ghironda Modern Art Museum, Bologna; Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli, Bologna) and from important private collections.
