From 18 May to 18 May 2019
Saturday 18 May 2019, on the occasion of the International Museum Day , Palazzo Reale in collaboration with Madlab 2.0 organizes and hosts the activity "Pleasure, Pepper!" which will take place between 2.30pm and 6.30pm .
The theme of the ICOM 2019 International Museum Day resumes that of the 25th ICOMN General Conference of Kyoto 2019, translating it into "Museums as cultural hubs: the future of tradition" and on this specific line Palazzo Reale di Genova has structured a proposal that combines the discovery of the richness of the furnishings, of the frescoes, of the assets that the Museum preserves and preserves with an extraordinary instrument, of profound innovation - Pepper , a humanoid robot capable of moving, speaking, dancing and interacting with the public - who will be ready to play in a thrilling treasure hunt.
The goal is to generate empathy in people and to create, in a fun and unexpected way, a point of contact with them.
Thanks to this potential, Madlab 2.0 and the Royal Palace Museum have decided to use Pepper to help younger visitors discover many of the most curious details of the Museum. Through simple questions, in fact, the robot will guide the children on a path through the halls of the Palace in search of a hidden "treasure".
Today, gamification is increasingly becoming a learning tool thanks to the advent of new technologies and, for the first time, Palazzo Reale is experimenting with this possibility with the aim of making, for the little ones, innovative, experimental and the visit to its collections is new.
Adult visitors, on the other hand, will not participate in the game in first person, but will be intrigued by a futuristic tool such as a robot placed inside the Throne Room and will still be able to interact with Pepper by asking him questions that he will answer in a fun way.
An experience conceived and co-designed thanks to the involvement of the staff of the Museum's Educational Service in perfect harmony with the operators of MadLab2.0 that will generate interest, curiosity and charm.
To participate it will be sufficient to purchase - at the symbolic price of 1 euro - a QRcode that will allow you to enter into dialogue with Pepper and start looking for the Treasure.
