From 31 January to 22 February 2026
At Torre Viscontea, the international exhibition of metal sculptures called "Ironcraft" arrives, conceived and promoted by the cultural association Arte&Arte of Como, inaugurating the rich calendar of the 2026 exhibitions of the City of Lecco and its urban museum system in Lecco - Simul.
The exhibition pays homage to the ancient Lecco tradition of ironworking and includes eighteen small metal works, a series of metal installations, and a video.
The international character of the exhibition is given by the origin of the authors of the works, who have given this purely industrial material a new artistic dignity and an original poetic form.
Lecco is indeed known as the "city of iron" due to its long history linked to this material, starting from artifacts from the 2nd century B.C. found at Piani d'Erna, and passing through medieval and Renaissance forges, reaching the large industrial complexes that made the city a national steel hub until the '60s and '70s of the last century.
The exhibition, with free admission, will be inaugurated on Friday, January 30th at 6 pm and will be open to the public until February 22nd.
