Sunday 6 March opens to the public "Le Montagne Grandi", the exhibition by Luisa Rota Sperti set up at the Stables of Villa Manzoni and curated by Stefano Masciovecchio. The exhibition can be visited until Sunday 24 April.

Luisa Rota Sperti has chosen pencil as an expressive medium: since the early seventies the Lecco artist has created and exhibited cycles of drawings inspired by history, great sagas and mythology. At the dawn of the nineties he approaches the theme of the mountains: the exhibition hosted in Lecco is the latest of numerous exhibitions and initiatives which, over the years, have brought the artist's graphic works to the attention of the public. His drawings, despite varying themes, are in accord with a single model, in which the elements that appear - mountains, clouds, creatures - are repeated endlessly with imperceptible variations, as happens in the art of the Far East.

“Luisa Rota Sperti has found the most sensitive and most delicate way to express the world of mountaineers. It leads us into the tension between man and mountain. His art represents the story of adventure ”: so Reinhold Messner on the artist's poetics. With the Rota Sperti, the great mountaineer has collaborated on several occasions, also organizing a solo exhibition of the artist in the Messner Mountain Museum on Monte Rite.
