From 4 December 2022 to 15 January 2023 the Scuderie di Villa Manzoni host the Crib exhibition

The traditional Nativity Scene Exhibition is back again this year in Lecco, set up by the local branch of the Italian Association Amici del Presepio in collaboration with Si.MUL and now in its eleventh edition.

The main novelty of Christmas 2022 is the return of the exhibition at the Villa Manzoni museum complex, where the first editions of this appreciated initiative were set up. The numerous crib works, all unpublished for the city of Lecco, will find a place in the large rooms of the stables on the ground floor, in order to guarantee easy access for everyone. Numerous traditional nativity scenes and dioramas relating to the Nativity and the various scenes related to the birth of Jesus will be exhibited.

The exhibition will also be enriched by a second room set up in the private chapel of the Villa where there will be numerous "shepherds" created by the Neapolitan sculptor Giuseppe Ercolano. These are traditional statues made in the 18th century Neapolitan style which are joined by subjects depicting characters linked to the history of our lake and to the Manzonian tradition.

Finally, a large nativity scene with many figures will be set up on the western shore of the lake, in a perfect union between Neapolitan art, local history and the centuries-old tradition of nativity scenes.
