From 3 July to 5 September 2021
In my opinion, restarting is not starting from where we were,
but add what you have learned. " These are the words written in the exhibition catalog by Giovanni Laviosa, President of the Carlo Laviosa Foundation. Saturday, July 3, the ribbon cutting of the exhibition of the 4th Competition "Photography and the world of work" promoted by the Carlo Laviosa Foundation and the Municipality of Livorno entitled "We will return to travel: work in tourism between tradition and new forms of hospitality". The inauguration will take place at 18.00, in the Park of Villa Mimbelli (Livorno, via San Jacopo in Acquaviva, 65), the exhibition will be set up in the Granaries of the Villa.
The competition was very well attended: photographers registered from all over Italy, many from Lombardy, then Lazio, Emilia, Campania, Marche, Abruzzo, Sicily and Liguria. Many Tuscans. But photos also came from Dubai, Germany, Denmark, Cape Verde and Turkey. Some numbers: in all, between single shots and photographic stories, 341 photos were sent and the jury, after a careful and severe selection, chose 125 for the exhibition, considering them the most representative of the spirit with which we can "return to to travel ”, of a new idea of the future and of work. 10% of the works presented in the photographic team.
The jury "reviewed 341 images" writes Simona Manfredini (Carlo Laviosa Foundation) in the introduction to the catalog "between photographic stories and single shots, all noteworthy for their interpretative commitment and for the original vision of the world of tourism, of human resources committed to enhancing the casket of beauty that is our country and the special sense of hospitality that is an expression of our way of being.
