The MUSMA - Museum of Contemporary Sculpture in Matera is pleased to present the exhibition Dadamaino. Signs, scripts, spaces, curated by Flaminio Gualdoni, which will be inaugurated on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the evocative spaces of Palazzo Pomarici, in the heart of the Sassi of Matera.
The exhibition offers a significant selection of works created between 1975 and 1996 by Dadamaino (pseudonym of Edoarda Emilia Maino, 1930–2004), a central figure in Italian and international visual art of the 20th century. Mainly coming from the Dadamaino Archive, the works on display also include some unpublished ceramic works created in Matera in the seventies, at the workshop of the master ceramist Giuseppe Mitarotonda.
Among the main series on display are:
Rational Unconscious (1978)
The facts of life (1978–1982)
Constellations (1981–1987)
The movement of things (1987–1996)
Via San Giacomo, Matera, Italy
