The exhibition of the ADI Design Index 2025 tells the selection made by the permanent Observatory of ADI Design, which aims to convey the complexity and richness of contemporary Italian design, intertwining languages, materials, and design visions. This year's selection embraces a broad and multidisciplinary panorama that includes design for living, design for lighting, design for work, design for mobility, design for the individual, food design, design of materials and technological systems, service design, social design, and communication design. These are accompanied by sections dedicated to research for companies, exhibition design, theoretical, historical, and critical research, and editorial projects, up to the Young Talent Award, which shines a spotlight on the new generations of designers and their interpretations of the future. Guided by the ADI Design Index Committee - composed of Makio Hasuike, Domenico Sturabotti, Laura Traldi, and Francesco Zurlo - the exhibition proposes multiplicity as a value, presenting a set of experiences that, although different in scope and purpose, dialogue with each other in a fertile and open comparison. Through objects, installations, research, and services, ADI Design Index 2025 provides an authentic, inclusive, and plural photograph of Italian design, capable of representing not only the aesthetic and functional excellence of projects but also the cultural, social, and economic values that design is called upon to express today. In this perspective, the exhibition becomes a tool for knowledge, interpretation, and reflection of the present, inviting the public and professionals to observe design as a privileged lens to understand the transformations of contemporary society and imagine its future evolutions.
