Among the most interesting artists of her generation, Benni Bosetto (Merate, Italy 1987; lives and works in Milan) ranges between drawing, sculpture, installation, and performance to explore representations of identity, which in her poetics appear fluid and often intertwined with other species and organisms. The artist's practice is indeed focused on the perception, transformation, and deconstruction of the body.
Narratives drawn from literary, anthropological, popular, cinematographic sources, psychoanalytic tradition, and art history characterize Bosetto's research; by examining gestures, habits, rituals, and states of semi-consciousness associated with meditation and dreams, her work is rooted in the understanding of human experience and aspects of daily life. Through reflection on the notions of rest and sexuality, she transforms these concepts into fertile ground for imagination and the production of new visions of reality.
Always fascinated by the codes of staging and their transformative potential, the artist creates changing environments that give life to an immersive experience for the viewer, where different temporalities and points of view coexist.
